STAR Briefing Trainer

Learn the STAR briefing method (the correct order, what each item means, and why), then practice with AI on your own chart.

For study and practice only

This trainer teaches briefing technique, not for actual flight operations. Always verify against your actual chart, your clearance, and your instructor. Read real values off your own chart. SkyBro teaches the method, you provide the numbers.

Principle: brief selectively, not top to bottom

A good STAR briefing is prioritised and threat focused. Do not recite every waypoint. Call out the items that will change how you fly this specific arrival today.

Step 1 of 10

1. STAR identification & chart currency

What it is

State the STAR name, revision, and effective date. Confirm it matches your clearance and arrival airport.

Why it matters

Briefing an out of date or wrong STAR (wrong revision, wrong runway variant) is a classic setup for a descent or level bust in the arrival phase.

On the STAR chart

Top of the plate: STAR name and designator, chart index / revision number, and effective date band. Cross-check against your ATC clearance.

Practice checklist

Say each item out loud before checking it off. Verbalising catches mistakes and builds muscle memory.
