1. SID identification & chart currency
What it is
State the SID name, revision, and effective date. Confirm it matches your clearance and departure airport.
Why it matters
Briefing an out-of-date or wrong SID (e.g. wrong runway variant, superseded revision) is a classic setup for a departure error.
On the SID chart
Top of the plate: SID name & designator, chart index/revision number, and effective date band. Cross-check against your ATC clearance.
Practice checklist
